Jasarien.Com

I took a look at my domain managment page the other day and noticed that Asphyxias.Net expires in July. I know thats, like, 4 months from now, but I had to decide whether to renew it or to get a new one. So I thought I’d take a look at what’s on offer and look what happened? :P

Jasarien.Com is mine, Bizzles!

And don’t you forget it. We had a lot of fun in Uni trying to come up with names that I could register, I was looking for things like Jam-Stuff or Jams-Things etc., but Truman being Truman and Will being combined with him, they came up with Jamthingsinme.com - which, surprisingly, is available. Now in order to stop myself from hosting a cheap porn site, I didn’t regeister the name.

I think that’s it for this post…

Byeeeee……

SOLVED!

I. Am. Awesome. There’s no two ways about it I’m afraid :P

After some gruelling research, I discovered that my RAM has been running at completely silly latencies and frequencies for a while. (I blame Award BIOS). After setting my latencies to 2.5-4-4-8 and then setting my FSB to 275, anf finally setting my CPU multiplyer to 10x I have achieved ultimately fast RAM at the cost of 50mhz to my CPU.

I will, in future, devise a cunning plan to put my cpu on the 3ghz mark and be awesome, once again. But alas, my PC is no longer state of the art, and hasn’t been for a long while now. I downloaded and ran 3dMark06 the other day. One of the tests bearly ran over 1fps. For the most part I was achieving around 7-10 fps which was understandable, since the benchmark was running with 16x AA and full HDR. My poor little 7800GTX nearly died. :P

Here are some numbers:

3dMark05: 8225 (Compare URL)
PCMark04: 5386 (Compare URL)

‘Tis interesting.

Intel Macs!

Intel Macs - a bit of a controversial idea if you’re used to the rantings between long-time mac users and PC users. but to me its a sexy idea. I’m seriously considering selling my laptop and my MacMini in order to buy a MacBook Pro. Ultrzas3x.
In the future I may even sell some of the “enthusiast” components in my pc (namely the 7800gtx and the FX-57) and replace them with mid-range components that will at least play games on lower settings, and then buy an iMac. Because macs are sexy. Say different and I’ll cut you up with my lightsaber.

It’s good to see that Taids.com is back. Had a good look around there, kept me occupied for about 10 mins ;)

Finally finished watching the Gundam SEED series and I can honestly say that it is the best Animé series I’ve ever watched. I was completely gripped towards the closing episodes, one could say, literally, I was on the edge of my seat. Fantastic :).

I still haven’t found the cause of my PC’s needless crashing. There is absolutely no possible logical, reasonble explanation for its behaviour. It’s just silly. Today I spent hours running several burn-in diagnostic tests and 3d Perfomance benchmarks such as PCmark04 and 3dMark05/06. The PC (as one would imagine) did not crash once. Not a sausage. The tests overloaded the CPU, memory, chipset, GPU - everything that could possibly cause a crash. But nothing seems to trigger it. It just happens. I’ve tested the CPU, RAM and GPU in a different motherboard and ran the same tests and it still didn’t crash, (to be honest I was surprised that Windows didn’t blue screen while loading since I’d changed such a vital component without reinstalling Windows). Anywho, I can guarrantee that the problem is not fixed. And it will crash again when I’m in the middle of something important, such as an MC run ¬_¬.
