So I Was Thinking…

PCs are like women’s shoes…

  • There’s plenty of choice
  • Thousands of combinations
  • Some are cheap and break easily
  • Some are more expensive than the Crown Jewels and are unnecessary

Macs on the other hand, are like men’s shoes…

  • Choice isn’t that great (brown or black at best, or white in a Mac’s case ;)), and what man wants to sit and choose all day?
  • They’re fit for their purpose
  • They do their job extremely well
  • They all cost around the same
  • They’re more durable than women’s shoes, (I’ve seen a lot of broken women’s shoes - one even got eaten by a dog…)

So yeah… That’s what I was thinking. Welcome to my inane world, those who haven’t been here before.

Ugly mother…

Atlanta Baby!

So yeah. It looks as though I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia for 5 days to take the Cocoa Bootcamp course.
At the moment it’s all hanging on whether or not there will be any complications with the university - if not, I’ll be going! :D

This is something I’ve really wanted to do ever since I read about it last year. I bought the book by Aaron Hillegass, Cocoa: Programming for Mac OS X, and while learning from a book is great if you’re that way inclined, nothing can beat having the opportunity to raise your hand and ask the book’s author a question that would have plagued your mind for hours if he were not there to help.

Aaron worked at NeXT and then subsequently for Apple and was there when Cocoa came into being. So who better to teach it than someone who helped make it what it is?
