Pay As You Go 3G iPhone!?

Go digg it please! http://digg.com/apple/O2_To_Offer_iPhone_On_Pay_As_You_Go_In_UK

It seems like O2 are offering the newly announced iPhone 3G as a Pay As You Go Option to UK customers. It’s likely that this will be alongside the normally expected 2 year lock-in contract for the iPhone. How much it’ll cost to get it on PAYG is still yet to be discovered, but don’t expect it to come cheap. I’ll take a wild guess and say that it’ll probably cost somewhere in the region of £500 to £600 for the privilege of not being committed to a contract.

It’s also likely that the handset will still be locked to the O2 network though, so don’t get your hopes up there either. Just because a handset is offered on PAYG doesn’t mean it’s unlocked.
